Haramati Education Fund

One of KMS’ founding principles is “Commitment to the State of Israel.” Dinah and Rav Amnon Haramati, z"l embodied that commitment in their life stories, from teaching and impacting the lives of over ten thousand students to graciously bringing their learning of and commitment to Tziyonut and Torah to KMS.

KMS was blessed by their presence. Wherever they lived, the Haramatis brought the history of Medinat Yisrael to life. Rabbi Amnon and Dinah Haramati, z"l lived and breathed Tziyonut, and they aimed to imbue us all with both a cognitive understanding of and an emotional connection to Israel as a core tenet in Jewish life.

The Haramatis were committed to Jewish redemption, rebirth and renewal. Just as Pesach marks the beginning of the Geulah and the return to Eretz Yisrael, the life of the Haramatis was framed by the redemption of Bnai Yisrael through the creation of Medinat Yisrael and the teaching of Torat Yisrael. Rav Haramati’s z’tl life can be framed by his passing before Pesach, the chag when we celebrate the first redemption, and Yom Ha’atzmaut, the chag when we celebrate the heroism of the Haramatis and others who founded Medinat Yisrael.

KMS is excited to be continuing their legacy through a special lecture series between Shabbat HaGadol and Yom Haatzmaut/Yom Yerushalayim, focused on “MiGola LeGeula.”

KMS is grateful for this opportunity to honor the life’s work of the Haramatis and imbue our community with an enduring commitment to Torat Eretz Yisrael and Medinat Yisrael. We ask that all members of KMS donate to this annual lecture series.
